Don't mention the war!

I love it! The build up to this World Cup is just getting better and better!

From Annanova:

England football fans could be jailed if they do the Basil Fawlty goosestep during the World Cup Finals in Germany.

Using Nazi symbols or actions is illegal in Germany and authorities say the same tough penalties given to right wing extremists will apply to fans who copy the salutes - even if done in jest.

Christian Sachs, spokesman for the Interior Ministry, said: "It doesn't matter if someone is doing the goosestep, raising their arm in the Hitler greeting or handing out swastikas, these are all crimes in Germany and can be punished with up to three years in jail."

Mr Sachs added: "If the judge in a case decided the offender had encouraged others to violence, the sentence could even be as much as five years. The perpetrator's country of origin is also irrelevant."

I like that name...Uranus in Greek I think.

Gavin, I heard a few years ago that the Germans loved Fawlty Towers and ESPECIALLY this episode....perhaps you could use your resources to trace the story.

Hi Augustus, I'm still smarting after I found out you wiped out about 100 lines of my perceptive comments on your R5L thread...the one Chip and Gavin answered on too. I spent AGES last night and had given intricate and detailed, highly intelligent script!

Anyway, yes my Blogger/ Word thing works and uploads successfully...all I did was download it though, which is about my limit!

And I read them all via email, so don't think it was a complete waste please. If I could cut and paste onto here I could reinstate the whole thing. Alas I cannot. Any idea why? Is it to reduce plagiarism or just to piss people off? It was indeed Nolan I had a go at. I gave NC a day off. I don't dislike Campbell when he isn't in his smug moods. I can't recall the last time that was though...

If you mean the little pencil that you click on under your posts to edit, it means you're not signed in Lucy...

Looking at it Lucy, revise that: I suspect you need to go to Change Settings, click the Comments tab, then Comments Default for Posts - if it's set to New Posts Do Not Have Comments - change it so New Posts Have Comments.

If that isn't it you'll have to give more detail!

New Posts Have Comments. Is definitley set. I tried changing most of the obvious options yesterday, word verification, registered users only etc. I'll try using the other blog that I created [in error] - see if that gives any clues. Thaks for looking at it :)

I wonder if the laws apply to victims as well. Any Jewish footballers sporting yellow stars will be seized by uniformed Germans and escorted by train to the nearest detention center. That would be an odd thing to watch. And is raising your feet high in the air as you walk around truly exclusive to Nazis? If so, I need to have a talk with my half-Japanese three year old.
